GIVE
Need in our region has steadily grown since 2008. And demand for help
with basic needs - like food, shelter and a safe environment - has risen
by more than 10% in the past year alone. How can you make a difference?
By helping more people in our community get the support they need. All
it takes is for you to...
Get Your GIVE On!
How? GIVE
a donation as a new donor, or increase your current gift by 10%. GIVE
your voice by telling one person why you support Metro United Way, or by
asking one other person to GIVE to Metro United Way. GIVE one hour a
month as a volunteer,
or take the Education
Call to Action.
When you support your Metro United Way, you help us improve lives, today
and tomorrow.
Did you know?
-
Right now in Kentuckiana, one family in six struggles to put a meal on
the table.
-
More than 10,000 of our students are homeless at some point in the
school year.
-
Nearly 1 in 4 women in our community experience domestic violence.
-
Nationally, up to 50% of kindergarteners are ill-prepared for school.
-
1 in 4 youth in our region do not graduate from high school on time.
-
80% of a student's waking hours are NOT spent in school.
Because of your generosity and commitment, Metro United Way can provide
a network of programs and services that feed the hungry, provide shelter
for the homeless, offer protection from abuse and ensure the safety of
frail elderly. We're also committed making a positive change in our
community's future by focusing on two areas of education: preparing our
children for kindergarten, and ensuring more of our youth graduate high
school on time prepared for college, work and life.
The Faces of Metro United Way's Work
With such bold goals, it's helpful to remember that each of the
thousands of people you can help through your Metro United Way has a
face, a name. Here are three of the people right here in Kentuckiana who
you helped last year. Click on their pictures to read their full
stories.

children and is getting her degree.
