Bullitt County Open RFP

Request for Proposals

In 2020, Metro United Way began a three-year transition to a new impact and investment model aimed at creating transformational change throughout the communities we serve because we recognized the urgent need to address persistent inequities that stifle sustainable progress communitywide. Today, Metro United Way unites and empowers communities by investing in issues and solutions to ensure positive, sustainable change. We use data-driven insights to identify our community’s greatest needs and address systemic challenges with a focus on advancing equity and sharing opportunities for all so that our entire community succeeds.

This year, we are seeking both new and established partnerships in Bullitt County, KY that are working innovatively to support THRIVING KIDS, STRONG HOUSEHOLDS, and an EQUITABLE COMMUNITY.

In this particular Request for Proposals (RFP), we are seeking proposals from organizations located in and/or are primarily focused on serving Bullitt County residents and families. Applicant organizations are not required to have a pre-existing relationship with Metro United Way. They must, however, be able to demonstrate effectiveness at creating community impact in one or more of the following areas:

Thriving Kids:

  • Creating a seamless system of supports for children ages birth to 5 and their families ensuring all children enter kindergarten ready to thrive;
  • Building a positive system of resources, supports, and opportunities to ensure the success of all young people ages 6-24;

Strong Households:

  • Meaningfully influencing household financial stability through strategies that increase earned income; increase retained income; or increase capital for under-resourced entrepreneurs;
  • Meeting the urgent health and basic needs of individuals and families;
  • Creating and sustaining effective and efficient cross-sector coordination among service providers to meet the needs of individuals and families.

Equitable Communities:

  • Leading initiatives specifically designed to lift under-resourced neighborhoods and communities

Proposals will be evaluated by a panel of community volunteers who will assess applications for alignment to the following stated goals:

  • Location of Services (Bullitt Co.)
  • Alignment to MUW’s Pillars (Education, Economic Mobility or Health & Basic Needs)
