Research proves that caring volunteers working with students of all ages have the power to help kids boost academic achievement and put young people on track to enter kindergarten ready to learn and graduate high school on time. In our community, 47% of children are not ready to learn when they enter kindergarten, 39% of third graders can’t read at grade level and nearly 1,200 students will drop out of school this year.

We all win when a child succeeds in school, when a neighborhood turns around, when families have good health and when workers have solid jobs. What can you do to help? Demonstrate your support for our kids by volunteering to read to, tutor or mentor a child.

Together, we can ensure that students all across our community enter school ready to learn and go on to complete high school on time prepared for college, work and life.
