Farmers Feeding Families RFP
We seek to identify community programs and services that increase access to food and combat food insecurity in Shelby County. Our goal is to ensure that individuals are able to live healthy lives free from hunger and its associated health issues and move more freely toward self-sufficiency with this barrier removed.
The Farmers Feeding Families initiative is working on reducing hunger and its associated health issues in Shelby County, where over 11% of individuals live food insecure. This series will highlight different Farmers, Organizations and Families involved in the program.
Amanda and Matt Gajdzik at Mulberry Orchard have been with Farmers Feeding Families since the 2018 kickoff. When Metro United Way came to Shelby county looking for help from farmers, the Gajdzik’s jumped on the opportunity to give back to the place they call home.
