At Metro United Way we identify the most pressing issues in our community, and we bring together the people we think can solve them.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the look and feel of back-to-school for many students across our seven-county service area, but students still need basic supplies to be successful. The wide-reaching effects of this pandemic have left many nonprofit organizations without adequate resources to provide school supplies to the families they serve, and for many families, back-to-school shopping is more than just a headache, it’s a serious financial challenge.
This year we are working diligently to fill TRIPLE THE NUMBER OF REQUESTS for backpacks and school supplies than we saw just a year ago and we can’t meet this critical need without your help!
Not only do school supplies help children with their studies, having a new backpack and notebooks can help raise a child’s self-esteem. Feeling good about themselves and having the tools they need to complete their schoolwork helps them start the new school year off on the right foot.
