One of the ways we promote financial stability in our region is by providing free tax assistance to families who make less than $64,000 annually. Last year, our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program served more than 9,000 hard-working families with refunds of more than $15,000,000 returned back to our community. Through VITA tax preparation fees are waived and all available income tax credits are leveraged, meaning no money was left on the table for families that need every penny.
