Dear Metro United Way Friends and Family -

Happy New Year!

I am truly honored to be writing to you as Metro United Way's new President and CEO! As we head into 2017 and Metro United Way's centennial year, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say thank you to each of you for your continuous support of Metro United Way. Without you, Metro United Way would not be in our community doing such necessary and impactful work.

Throughout my life and career, I have been driven by a desire to positively impact the lives of others. I have been fortunate to follow a path that has allowed me to do that in a number of settings: from my earliest beginnings as a Girl Scout Gold Awardee, to protecting our borders and the lives of others as an officer in the United States Coast Guard, while developing effective strategies for non-profits and federal agencies to scale their impact as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, and to most recently creating a nationally recognized city office focused on delivering better services to individuals across Louisville.

Since moving to Louisville in 2010, I have come to adopt the city as my home. My husband and I are raising three beautiful children here (Paul - 6, Sophia - 6, Ava - 3) and the need to improve our communities and the lives of individuals surrounding them is an imperative I feel deeply. The opportunity to serve as CEO of Metro United Way, which brings our community together to change the odds for our kids and families, is an incredible honor and a challenge that I accept with both humility and excitement. I believe Metro United Way is poised in new ways to execute on our vision of a community whose people achieve their fullest potential through education, financial stability and healthy lives, and I look forward to working with you to make that vision a reality.

While there is always room for improvement, I have been continually impressed by the passion, professionalism, scale, and impact of Metro United Way. Under Joe Tolan's leadership, the organization identified and acted on important opportunities for its current and future success. I am confident in the sound footing we have as an organization and the potential of Metro United Way to help our community achieve new heights.

As I transition into my new role over the coming months, I look forward to connecting with you to hear firsthand of your experience with Metro United Way. Let us all LIVE UNITED and continue to improve lives and our community by engaging people to give, advocate and volunteer.
