Metro United Way Careers

Young Leaders are up-and-coming members of the community, age 40 and under, who contribute at the Leadership level of $1,000 or more annually. The mission of the Young Leaders Society is to promote and encourage philanthropy and volunteerism among Young Leaders in Kentuckiana through a variety of social, educational, volunteer and networking opportunities.

Goals of the Young Leaders Society:

  • Increase participation and membership
  • Educate members and target prospective Young Leaders
  • Enhance community involvement of Young Leaders by providing members with community service opportunities
  • Develop members leadership skills through professional and personal relationships, as well as utilize their skills during the Metro United Way campaign.

The Gheens Foundation

The Gheens Foundation Young Leaders Challenge offers matching funds for any individual, age 40 and younger, to join the Leadership Giving Program. There are two ways to join the Leadership Giving Program with the Young Leaders Match:

One way to join the Leadership Giving Program through the Young Leaders Match is to give $1,000 your first year this gift will be matched $1,000.

Young Leaders Challenge Step-Up

The second way to join through the Young Leaders Match is to give $500 your first year with a match of $500, $750 your second year with a match of $250 and $1,000 your third year.

Men and Women 40 and under who contribute at the Leadership level of $1,000 or more annually to Metro United Way automatically become members of the Young Leaders Society.
