Bob McIntosh

Bob has been an actively engaged volunteer with Metro United Way for 50 years and he epitomizes what true volunteerism is, serving others in our community.

SOWING SEEDS WITH FAITH

Sowing Seeds With Faith is a true community beacon that shines bright. Through mentoring, tutoring, summer enrichment, and a wealth of extracurricular opportunities, they lead the way to ensure our youth have support and opportunities to excel and continually move closer to being the Kings and Queens they were destined to become. In addition to youth empowerment, SSWF also provides tremendous supports to families which includes parenting retreats, workshops, and holiday assistance.

2024 Gamechanger Award

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL LOUISVILLE

At St. Vincent de Paul, their dedication to serving clients and the Smoketown community is evident. Dave, along with the rest of the SVDP staff, work diligently, with dignity and compassion, to ensure all needs are met for the individuals and families connected to the organization. That includes housing, both on and off site, shelter for the homeless, feeding the community, emergency financial assistance, clothing, affordable housing for veterans, after-school programs for youth and much more.

ASHLEY DUNCAN

Ashley Duncan embodies unparalleled dedication, leadership and service to community. A member of the Board of Directors since 2018 and Board Chair since 2022, Ashley’s unwavering commitment to Metro United Way shines through in everything she does. Armed with a deep understanding of our work, Ashley has led the Board and organization through changes in the philanthropic landscape. Her partnership with the CEO and leadership team, and ability to set and follow a strategic vision, are unmatched.

  • Live United Award – recognizes an individual whose exceptional support for Metro United Way is multi-faceted and consistently goes the extra mile in ensuring the organization creates impact in the community today and in the future.
  • Community Cornerstone Award – recognizes a company who is ‘all-in’ in its support of Metro United Way, generating community impact through its fundraising efforts, leadership and employee engagement, and volunteer participation.
  • Game Changer Award – recognizes a nonprofit partner who, in partnership with Metro United Way, is changing lives and our community through innovation, leadership, persistence, and passion.
  • Changing the Narrative Award – recognizes a company, organization, or individual that has been critical in advancing Metro United Way’s ability to raise awareness of equity-related issues and help improve equitable outcomes in the community through contributions of time, energy, ideas, and financial support.
  • Sullivan Service Award – recognizes a company, organization, or individual who has demonstrated extraordinary generosity with their time and talent and made a significant community impact through volunteer service. This special award is named in honor of former MUW volunteer engagement leader Mary Sullivan, who was the heart and soul of service in our community for more than 40 years.
  • Using Your Voice Award – recognizes an individual or organization that has been instrumental in advancing policy solutions that create lasting systemic changes that address the root causes of social and economic issues in our communities.

He has been an actively engaged volunteer with Metro United Way for more than a quarter century. Barry has also been a model of Executive Leadership that listens to and respects the input and need of their constituents.

The “all-in” phrase means demonstrating a complete commitment to something – from all sides and every channel. Republic Bank has time and time again shown us that complete commitment year-round. 2022 – also the year they celebrated their 40th anniversary of caring for their community – was no different.

Alisia McClain is a passionate champion for promoting equity in the technology sector among youth and young adults. She founded the nonprofit Tech-nique which provides technology skills-building opportunities for youth of color.

The leadership Josh provides to the innovative work taking place as part of the Southern Indiana Housing Pilot exudes why Josh should receive this recognition. He has been very active in participating in the learning sessions associated with this pilot and will continue his deep engagement as this work moves forward.

Ashley Butler, and her family’s Lift a Life Novak Foundation, go above and beyond in their support of Metro United Way, specifically our early care and education work. Ashley is passionate about early childhood, values the expertise of Ready for K partners doing direct services, and trusts MUW’s leadership in the early childhood space.

This is a new award to honor the legacy of of KJ Rhodes after the K.E.N. Scholarship Fund that is awarded to a student headed to college.
