At Metro United Way, we identify the most pressing issues in our community, and we bring together the people and organizations needed to address those issues head-on so that we have thriving kids, strong households, and an equitable community.

Imagine a world in which all people have access to adequate hygiene and laundry supplies. Basic hygiene is the core of self-worth, self-respect, confidence, and dignity. With hygiene poverty comes isolation, exclusion, and shame and these impact our ability to fully participate in society.

Twice a year, our nonprofit partners fill out a needs survey sharing with us the items they need the most. Organizations can request anything from healthy snack kits, hygiene kits, backpacks, laundry kits, and more. One of our most requested kits, with over 2,000 requested this year through our summer survey alone, is our Fresh and Clean laundry kit.
