Beyond Buzzwords: Reflections on Race with Tim Wise

Join Metro United Way and Park Community Credit Union for a virtual event featuring Tim Wise, one of the most prominent anti-racist writers and educators in the United States. Wise is the author of eight books, including White Like Me: Reflections on Race from a Privileged Son, Speaking Treason Fluently: Anti-Racist Reflections From an Angry White Male, and his forthcoming book, Dispatches from the Race War (December 2020).
Named one of “25 Visionaries Who are Changing Your World,” by Utne Reader, Wise has contributed chapters or essays to over 25 additional books and his writings are taught in colleges and universities across the nation. He has also trained corporate, government, entertainment, media, law enforcement, military, and medical industry professionals on methods for dismantling racism in their institutions.
Beyond Buzz Words is a Metro United Way speaker series on diversity, equity and inclusion that is designed to provide thoughtful and meaningful discussions about important topics that promote thinking as well as personal and institutional application.
