In Southern Indiana for Giving Tuesday, Metro United Way will raise money for our Build-A-Bed initiative that provides beds to area children that have no bed of their own.
To date, more than 500 beds have been built by hundreds of volunteers! This is certainly something that has brought us all together in a tangible way to help our community.
Our goal this year is to build 175 more beds for families in Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties.
We know a good night’s sleep is vital to a child’s ability to pay attention, learn and succeed in school. A safe space of their own at home can help a child get rest, daydream, read, do homework when they’re older, or just enjoy some quiet time alone. Getting enough sleep can also support more creativity, enhance a child’s mood, fight sickness and positively impact overall health.
