Through community partnerships, we are working to help individuals in Southern Indiana become first-time homeowners and we are working to keep current homeowners in their homes by addressing safety and repair needs. We will also inform on the additional service needs and service gaps as they relate to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing.

Repair Affair

Safe and affordable housing is foundational to all of this and is a common need we hear about across our regional community. Metro United Way is hard at work to address this need and has lifted housing as a priority area of focus in Clark, Floyd, and Harrison Counties and have partnered with New Directions Housing Corporation in elevating Repair Affair in Southern Indiana.

Download the application for program requirements. Recipients are based on a first come first service basis. We look for repairs that will improve the home’s safety, security, and weather efficiency. Repair Affair is not a decorating, remodeling, or emergency repair program. ALL application requirements must be met for consideration.

THE YEAGERS BUY THEIR FIRST HOME THANKS TO METRO UNITED WAY'S SOUTHERN INDIANA HOUSING PROGRAM

Kayla Yeager has been through a lot in her life, but she’s determined to break the cycle of generational poverty. With help from Metro United Way’s Southern Indiana Housing Pilot, in partnership with the Salvation Army, Kayla and her husband bought their first home and moved in just before the holidays.
