Purpose
Metro United Way is committed to ensuring every young child in Southern Indiana has the resources and support to thrive. Through the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ), we work with local organizations to:
- Increase parents’ and caregivers’ understanding of developmental milestones
- Strengthen kindergarten readiness
- Connect families to early intervention services and community supports
Metro United Way is seeking nonprofit and community-based organizations to participate in the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) Partnership. This RFP seeks to understand your organization’s programs, capacity, community reach, and ability to support families.
Eligibility & Requirements
Eligible applicants: Nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, or other entities with programs serving young children and families in Harrison County, IN, Clark County, IN, Floyd County, IN.
Timeline & Notification
- RFP release date: Wednesday, November 19, 2025
- Submission deadline: Friday, December 5, 2025
- Review and evaluation period: 12/5/2025 – 12/17/2025

Evaluation & Scoring Criteria
Submissions will be reviewed by Metro United Way staff using the following criteria:
- Strategic vs. Referral fit based on organizational capacity, community reach, and program alignment.
- Ability to engage and retain families in programming.
- Overall clarity, completeness, and feasibility of responses.
Scoring will be applied consistently across all applicants to ensure fairness and transparency
Partnership Information
All partners will receive support and training from Metro United Way to implement ASQ activities effectively.
Strategic Partners
Focus:
Enrolling families in MUW’s ASQ Hub and supporting developmental screenings.
Expectations:
- Staff with family contact complete ASQ training (1-hour online)
- Distribute ASQ materials and encourage family enrollment in the Hub
- Attend monthly check-ins with MUW to share updates and address barriers
- Meet enrollment goals.
- Optional Add-On: Support retention of 70% of families with a second ASQ completion (requires staff HIPAA training). Additional funding may be available.

Referral Partners
Focus:
Promoting the ASQ and encouraging families to participate through outreach and education.
Funding:
$7,500 per organization
Expectations:
- Staff with family contact complete ASQ training (1-hour online)
- Distribute ASQ materials and encourage community participation
- Attend check-ins with MUW to share outreach tactics and progress (as needed)
Benefits:
- Access to direct giving funds
- Eligibility for event sponsorships and professional development support
- Recognition as a valued community partner in the ASQ initiative
