At Metro United Way (MUW), we identify the most pressing issues in our community, and we harness the power of volunteers, like you, to provide solutions through service. Volunteers are vital to the strength of our community.
We support the missions of local nonprofits by connecting groups of volunteers to their needs. We create interactive and truly meaningful service projects and experiences that lead to impactful experiences for your team and our community.
You can learn more about the work MUW is doing across our seven-county service area through our Impact Tracker here which is updated monthly.
VOLUNTEER CONNECTION
Metro United Way’s free, online tool, Volunteer Connection, links passionate volunteers and groups to meaningful projects managed by our nonprofit partners from across our seven-county service region.
This is a great way to get your team out into the community!
You can search for and register for opportunities based on your location, the number of people in your group, the causes you love or the skills you bring to the table.
ONSITE VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCES
We bring customized, managed service projects to you and your group to meet the basic needs of our neighbors. These kit style projects are a great option for meetings, conferences, events or teams with time or travel constraints.
How do onsite volunteer projects work?
MUW brings the project to you, and we handle all the procurement details; you cover the cost and supply the volunteers.
What types of projects do you do?
Our projects directly align with the needs of our nonprofit partners. Click here to view a current project menu.
If you are ready to book a project or talk through the options, please fill out our Project Interest form. You don’t have to know all the details of your project; we can work through those on the call. After completing the form, you will receive a confirmation with a link so you can hold a time on our calendar for the call.
SIGNATURE VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCES
We build on existing community resources and expertise to have the greatest impact. We learn from community leaders to understand how our programs can make the most impact. We invite you to join us at one of our signature events.

Racial Wealth Simulation
We cannot begin to address the profound education and wealth gaps in our community until we all understand the disparate paths policy paved to construct them and, together, commit to closing them. Systemic racism is real. This experience is an exploration of it. And we invite you to join us in a safe, confidential, constructive, and engaging space to help elevate the conversation around racial equity. Maximize your experience by pairing this powerful simulation with a volunteer experience.
