  • The Youth Success Network‘s annual kickoff event took place on Friday, August 28 and brought together 85 people representing over fifty youth serving organizations to celebrate a new year of programming and supports. During this event, MUW’s Youth Success Team debuted the 2026 Menu of Supports for Youth Success Network Partners. This year’s menu features:
    • Monthly Networking events

    • Academic Supports
    • Metro United Way’s Volunteer Connection Platform

  • August has been one of the most successful months since the inception of our Ages & Stages (ASQ) developmental program. Since August 1, 161 new children have been enrolled with 97 children having an ASQ questionnaire completed.
  • Since the beginning of September, more than 184 children have been enrolled in our Ages & Stages (ASQ) developmental program.
  • To increase efficiency and better meet families where they are, the ASQ Hub has implemented a new HIPAA-compliant texting platform. This enhancement allows Metro United Way’s team to communicate more effectively with parents and caregivers regarding developmental screenings and other related services.
  • The Ages & Stages (ASQ) developmental screening Hub team attended many community events to spread the word about ASQ programming and encourage enrollment, including:
    • Dino Days at the Kentucky Science Center where Metro United Way staff provided dinosaur-themed books to families, resulting in more than 30 children enrolling in the Hub.
    • The Kentucky Science Center’s annual Touch a Truck event and multiple new parent events.
    • Two Play with Purpose play groups taking place in Southern Indiana in partnership with the Floyd County Library and Parenting with Purpose. Play with Purpose is a family engagement series designed to help parents strengthen their child’s development through meaningful play.

  • With support from Ford Philanthropy, Metro United Way is partnering with the Catch a Ride Network to address transportation barriers in the Jefferson County area. Using a targeted and time-limited approach to provide tangible solutions for veterans, seniors, and families on a limited income, MUW and CARN will work with local agencies to support, learn, and chart a path forward. By coordinating transportation resources through a single platform, the partnership will help residents access work, education, healthcare, and other essential services while also generating insights about where transportation gaps exist across Jefferson County. Stay tuned for more details!

  • The major redesign of our simulated learning experience continues to move toward launch. Our new Wealth, Poverty & Opportunity Simulation features a more engaging, story-driven experience connecting historical policies and systems to present-day wealth, poverty, and economic opportunity. The updated tool is being prepared for its initial rollout.
  • Our Equitable Community team led a session at the Kentucky Labor-Management Conference focused on leading through change, workplace culture, inclusive leadership, trust, adaptability, and collaboration.
